Hi everyone!
I have to write a short bio for this environmental reporting fellowship, and I’m struggling with it. I feel like I don’t have any publications to really brag about here. Does this sound too general? If you see this and have a chance to offer any insight today, Sept. 30, I’d be ever appreciative! Thank you!

Ansley Evans is a freelance journalist, translator and educator based in Murcia, Spain. Her work reflects the topics that inspire her, chiefly agricultural heritage and traditional foodways. She’s drawn to stories with a sense of place, rooted in geography, that reveal connections across cultures and time. Fueled by curiosity about the world, she holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Colorado College and an MA in French from Portland State University. Originally from Florida, she has resided in the Mediterranean since 2006, first in Avignon, France, and now in Spain. She lives in Murcia with her husband and son.

Ansley, I think this is good! It’s interesting, I went to the About page of this organization and the two people listed there had *very* general sounding bios in a similar tone to yours. If you don’t have publications to list, that is okay – I feel like I get a sense of what you write about based on this bio, which is cool. If you wanted to make it a bit more condensed, perhaps the sentence “Her work reflects the topics…” could be “She writes about agricultural heritage and traditional foodways.”
